Metanoia 2024
Metanoia Global South Africa 2024
March 11 to 17, 2024
Cape Town, South Africa
A transformative global gathering of young adult leaders created with the unique accent of the methodist movement for a new season of mission and evangelism.
We have been anticipating our next global Metanoia gathering since 2018, when we met in Costa Rica. Now, after COVID related delays and forced schedule changes, we are delighted to finally announce the Metanoia Global 2024 in South Africa!
Young adult leaders from all over the world will gather at the Rocklands Center in Cape Town, South Africa from March 11th-17th, 2024 to connect with one another, to learn from amazing teachers, and to worship together.
Who is this for?
Metanoia is for young adults leaders in the Methodist Wesleyan tradition. It includes local church and denominational leaders from any and every network or denomination claiming roots in the Wesleyan movement (Methodist, Free Methodist, Wesleyan, Wesleyan Methodist, Salvation Army, Holiness, Nazarene, etc).
What should I expect?
Metanoia is a unique and exciting multi-cultural, international gathering. Consequently, you should expect to meet other leaders from all over the world. Every day will follow a similar pattern:
- Morning-Early Afternoon: Teaching and workshop sessions
- Mid-late Afternoon: Time for connection, reflection, and leisure
- Evening: Worship and Celebration
Teachers, presenters and preachers are invited from different ministry and cultural backgrounds, focusing on themes such as faith-sharing, discernment of call, cross-cultural mission, Christian leadership, etc.
As a bonus, about half-way through the gathering, participants enjoy a fun excursion day, included as part of the experience.
What will it cost?
The cost to participate in this weeklong gathering is US$300. The cost includes room, meals, materials, fun-day activities, and participation in all six days of sessions with speakers from around the world. If you are ready to register, feel free to click on the “Register Now” link below.
A limited number of partial scholarships are available by application, and will be decided on a case-by-case basis. If you are applying for a scholarship, please click on the “Scholarship Application” link below.
What other costs would I expect?
The only other major cost for participants is transportation to and from Cape Town. We are organizing transportation between the airport/bus station and the retreat center in order to make things easier on participants arriving for Metanoia.
How can I participate?
We believe that Metanoia participants don’t just register to join, they are instead SENT by their local church, conference, network, or denomination. So, participating at Metanoia South Africa begins with having a conversation with your sending leader(s).
