Desmond Henry
I’m a missiologist, strategist, and global evangelism leader.
For over two decades, I’ve helped shape how the Church proclaims Christ in a changing world. My work has taken me from local church leadership in South Africa and Botswana to leading evangelism strategy at the global level.
Today, I serve as International Director of the Global Network of Evangelists at the Palau Association, helping identify and mobilize evangelists across six continents. I also teach globally as a Guest Professor at institutions like Wheaton College, Talbot Seminary at Biola University, and Wycliffe Hall, University of Oxford and more.
I serve on the Executive of the GEA for the Empowered21 movement, and contribute to global mission thought leadership through my roles with the Lausanne Movement, including as a Research Fellow for Lausanne Insights for Global Horizons and Trends and as Catalyst for Proclamation Evangelism.
When I’m not speaking, writing, or leading strategic initiatives, I’m developing training tools, writing on the future of evangelism, or mentoring emerging leaders while modelling a life committed to Christ and reaching all people.
I hold a PhD in Missiology and continue to shape academic dialogue as Chairman of the SATS theological journal known as Conspectus.
I reside in Johannesburg, South Africa, with my wife Lara and our three daughters—Gabriella, Annabella, and Olivia—anchored in the hope of the Gospel and committed to seeing Christ proclaimed in every culture and generation.
