The Rev. Ashley Doster serves as Development Operations Coordinator for World Methodist Evangelism and is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church.
Throughout her ministry, Ashley has served in a variety of pastoral, leadership, nonprofit, and extension ministry roles in Virginia, Tennessee, and Indiana.
She is passionate about helping people encounter the transforming love of Jesus Christ and equipping the church to share the Gospel in ways that are authentic, relational, and relevant to the world around us.
Ashley was born and raised on a farm in Bedford, Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Longwood University and a Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. She has also completed certificates in Nonprofit Management and Fundraising and Development.
Throughout her ministry, Ashley has served local churches in Virginia, Tennessee, and Indiana, as well as in extension ministry as Executive Director of The Building Lives Foundation in Nashville, Tennessee.
Ashley’s journey in development and fundraising began through her service on the board of Camp Westview on the James and continued through her work as a mental health champion for Insight Counseling. These experiences helped shape her understanding of the importance of cultivating relationships, communicating vision, inviting others to invest in meaningful ministry, and connecting resources with opportunities to make a difference.
Evangelism has remained a central passion throughout Ashley’s ministry. She attended the Order of the FLAME in 2011, an experience that significantly shaped her understanding of evangelism and her calling to help others share their faith. More than a program or ministry strategy, Ashley believes evangelism is about relationships — creating spaces where people can ask questions, tell their stories, encounter the grace of God, and discover the hope found in Jesus Christ.
Ashley brings together her pastoral experience, nonprofit leadership, fundraising background, and passion for evangelism to help strengthen the church and equip people for ministry. She is especially energized by opportunities to develop leaders, build partnerships, tell the story of God’s work, and help churches discover new ways to engage their communities with the Gospel.
Ashley and her husband, Travis, are the proud parents of three daughters: Allison, Megan, and Abby. Family is an important part of Ashley’s life and ministry, and she treasures the opportunities they have to serve, travel, learn, laugh, and grow together. Her life and ministry continue to be shaped by a simple desire: to love God, love people, and help others discover the good news of Jesus Christ.
