WME Regional Secretary Honored by National Religious Broadcasters
World Methodist Evangelism West Africa Regional Secretary Bishop Sunday Onuoha was honored at the 2016 National Religious Broadcasters Media Awards for his work with Vision Africa Radio in Nigeria. The recipient of the International Individual Achievement Award, Onuoha was recognized at the ceremony which marks the year’s most outstanding ministries, facilities, and programs/producers. The NRB Media Awards program “is designed to encourage excellence in production, service to the community, faithfulness to the mission, commitment to the Gospel, and personal integrity.”
Bishop Onuoha survived a childhood of Nigerian civil war to earn a doctorate from Southern Methodist University,
becoming a Bishop in the Nigerian Methodist church. He is the founder and president of Vision Africa, which focuses on bringing networks of faith communities to share God’s love and empowering the grassroots, which helps build Nigeria’s indigenous capacity to solve problems and cure society’s ills from the inside out.
Bishop Onuoha is also the executive director of the Nigerian Interfaith Action Association. In 2013, he received the Global Peace Interfaith Leadership Award from the Global Peace Foundation.
