How to Participate
The Order of the Flame was founded in 1996 by Dr. H. Eddie Fox to equip young clergy and their spouses (if applicable) across North America to be mission evangelists in their own communities.
Each year, Bishops and other leaders from the Wesleyan Methodist family nominate young clergy under 45 to join a new class of the Order and attend the annual FLAME gathering at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island, Georgia.
Annual FLAME gatherings focus on cultivating spiritual leaders who understand the holistic nature of evangelism and its connection to all aspects of pastoral leadership. Through dynamic teaching, meaningful small group experiences, and inspiring worship, these gatherings provide a launch pad for participants to engage in in-depth spiritual formation, leadership development, mentoring, and disciple-making. Because the Order of the FLAME is not limited to one denomination, gatherings are a unique opportunity to form friendships, learn, and grow with ministry colleagues from across the entire Methodist Wesleyan family.
The Order of the FLAME experience is a gift to each new class of members. New members pay only a nominal registration fee and the cost of their travel expenses.
